During my PhD studies at The University of Queensland I ran a successful outreach program called outreach in the outback. We were kindly supported through grants and networking by the OSA Foundation as well as the Australian Academy of Science, Technology and Engineering . During this time I travelled to many remote areas of Australia taking with me science experiments and demonstrations to schools, and other youth organisations. I built and developed an assortment of experiments, demonstrations and talks directly aimed at inspiring young people to consider science, not only as a career, but as an interesting part of everyday life.
